FLOW Snowboarding

Fiber Orientation

Each Flow board is targeted toward a different type of rider and is optimized for its own range of conditions. Fiberglass selection and orientation determine the primary structure of each board’s on-snow characteristics.

Biaxial (0/90 degrees)

Biaxial glass delivers smooth, predictable flex for excellent turn initiation and maneuverability.

Pretension Biax (0/90degrees)

We use a special biax that is pre-cured under tension to maximize the fiber-to-weight ratio for a super responsive and smooth feel.

Quadrax (0/+30/-30/90)

The 0/+30/-30/90 orientation delivers unreal response by distributing binding pressure over a greater area, because the 30-degree axis fibers add extra torsional stiffness.

Light Quadrax With Carbon (0/+30/-30/90)

The light quadrax glass, which includes 20 full-length carbon stringers, gives an incredibly responsive ride.

Triax Insert Support Panels

Flow boards have some of the highest insert strength ratings in the industry.

Brass Edges

Brass is a softer material than steel, which makes it less brittle, so it won’t crack when you’re on a rail or box. The softness allows for easier maintenance and much easier tuning.

Tuned Edges

Flow’s step-by-step ceramic finishing process delivers a microscopic polish to the glide surface. This is followed by a hand-detuning of every tip and tail for a no-catch ride. Finally, each edge receives an additional treatment for rust corrosion.

Structurn

The most advanced and durable base structure on the market, Structurn delivers the fastest base finish through strategically placed dimples that erase speed-robbing suction. The suction is made from the base heating up the snow and creating a boundary layer of water. The dimples are the most efficient way of breaking this boundary, similar to the way a golf ball’s texture gives it extra distance in the “fluid” air.

Base Construction

Optimum glide and durability are requirements for every Flow board. We focus on base technology through a meticulous production process that uses sequential base finishing and ends with deep wax infusion.

optix Ez-Care

We start with the highest molecular weight extruded base, which has much higher abrasion resistance and wax-absorption ability than normal extruded bases.

optix crystal

More durable than EZ-Care and slightly softer than Optix 2000 this base is the best of both worlds. Combinding a high abrashion resistance with low waxing matinance this gliding surface works well on a wide varity of conditions and terrain.

Dual Density

We combined 1500 EZ-Care with Structurn and fuse hard sintered Electra graphite base material along the edges providing added impact resistance and a huge increase in speed.

optix 2000 Sintered

This high-density base is the perfect platform for our Structurn finishing process, which delivers an extremely fast ride.

optix 4000 Sintered

The most durable base on the market fused with higher wax absorption that translates to greater top-end speed giving the pro team the added speed a world-class snowboarder demands.
